Dear Friend,

In Bengal, adda is an emotion. There’s something special and endearing about these freewheeling chats over endless cups of chai. One catches up with friends and neighbours, bonds with strangers, keeps abreast of current affairs and shares passions and emotions over ‘cha-biskoot’ and snacks.

The ubiquitous ‘cha-er dokan’ or tea stalls in almost every lane and by lane are the hotspots for such addas, and heart centres for neighbourhoods. They are the junctions of camaraderie, bonding, sharing and community living, of passionate, heart-to-heart conversations.

When we opened City Centre Salt Lake in 2004, we started Tea Junction, drawing inspiration from this quintessential Bengali tradition of adda, bonding and love for tea. With time, a carefully crafted menu of sips and bites evolved.

While upholding the adda culture was our priority, we also anticipated a prerequisite for hygienic, good quality, fresh and tasty chai. Thus, Tea Junction has grown to over 46 outlets with presence in multiple cities, creating hangouts where people come with their own stories, exchanging ideas and having fun.

I warmly welcome you all to come and experience the several varieties of tea in our signature handcrafted clay kulhads, and resonate with Bengal’s indomitable spirit of friendship and cordiality.

Regards,

Harshavardhan Neotia
